Today, we are pleased to launch our Climate Commitment.
Why now?
The urgency of addressing climate change is palpable. Climate change is already causing severe harm to societies and the global economy. Evidence shows that humanity is taking grave risks with the stability of Earth’s life support systems if global average temperatures continue to rise.
We must stay below a global rise in temperatures of 1.5°C, and return to pre-industrial levels as soon as possible, to decrease the risk for irreversible climate tipping points. To do so, global greenhouse gas emissions should halve by 2030 from a 2020 baseline to reach near zero.
Our commitment
Our core goal is to do our part to create a sustainable future. This isn't merely a corporate strategy; it's a reflection of our dedication to the global community and our shared environmental responsibilities.
Token.io’s Climate Commitment has three broad components:
Offices: We ensure that all of our office locations reach 100% renewable energy usage
Emissions: We will work continuously to reduce our emissions to support our net zero goal
Net Zero: We aim to operate at net zero by 2030
Striving for sustainability
What other proactive measures are we taking to enhance Token.io’s sustainability and reduce our environmental footprint?
Travel: We prefer travelling by train over flying and limit our travel to what is truly necessary
Waste reduction: We minimise our use of single-use plastics and champion digital-first initiatives
Remote work: We have strong infrastructures in place for dispersed teams and remote work, to minimise the environmental impact of office commutes

Climate change is everybody’s business
Token.io is a member of Leaders for Climate Action as well as the SME Climate Hub (“Hub”), which is a non-profit global initiative that empowers small to medium sized companies to take climate action and build resilient businesses for the future.
At Token.io, we believe we can contribute to a decarbonised economy beyond our own operations. We are also advocating for climate action by engaging our network of customers and partners, and encouraging a collaborative approach to addressing climate change.
